Encore Brewmaster's Private Beer 12 Oz Tab Top Can

Schlitz Encore Tab Top Guide

The Encore Brewmaster's Private Beer can represents an intriguing chapter in the history of the Jos. Schlitz Brewing Company of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Schlitz developed the brand as a premium-positioned label during a period of intense industry competition and nationwide brewery expansion.

Design and Visual Elements

The can features an ornate, traditional design highlighted by heraldic artwork. A detailed coat of arms featuring a lion and unicorn crest anchors the label, set against metallic and gold-accented styling with clean white framing. Prominent typography presents the bold "Encore" brand name above the "Brewmaster's Private Recipe Beer" subtext.

Collector Notes and Variations

Because Jos. Schlitz operated several brewing plants across the United States during this era, variations of the Encore can exist. These differences generally center around the mandatory brewery location statements printed on the side of the can, which list different manufacturing cities, as well as subtle differences in metallic finishes.

Due to the relatively short market lifespan of the Encore brand compared to Schlitz's core offerings, these cans remain an appealing addition for collectors focusing on Jos. Schlitz breweriana, secondary brewery labels, and classic tab top designs.
