Falstaff Beer 16 Oz Tab Top Can

Omaha Falstaff 16 Oz Tab Top

The Falstaff Beer 16 Oz Tab Top can originating from the Omaha, Nebraska facility represents a notable chapter in Midwestern packaging history. Falstaff Brewing Corporation established a strong presence in Omaha after acquiring the historic Krug Brewery site, making the location a primary regional packaging hub.

Mandatory Markings and Facility History

For breweriana enthusiasts, cans associated with the Omaha facility hold particular interest due to the mandatory brewery statements printed along the seam. Falstaff operated packaging facilities across multiple states, and cans distributed throughout the Midwest frequently featured multi-city mandatory listings or Omaha-specific designations. Known variations exist regarding mandatory plant text arrangements, canning codes, and metal composition.

Graphic Design and Format

The 16-ounce pint format provided substantial surface area for Falstaff’s traditional livery. The can face prominently displays the recognizable Falstaff shield and crest emblem, flanked by bold typography set against an off-white background. The expanded height of the pint container gives the graphics a pronounced vertical balance compared to standard 12-ounce issues.

Collector Significance

As brewing operations centralized and regional facilities were gradually retired, Omaha-marked containers became physical records of the brewery's geographic expansion and distribution network. Tab top cans bearing the Omaha mandatory line remain staple reference pieces for collectors documenting the evolution of mid-century industrial canning and corporate plant listings.
