Falstaff Draft 12 Oz Tab Top Can

Falstaff Draft Omaha Can Heritage

The Falstaff Draft 12 Oz Tab Top can bearing the Omaha, Nebraska designation is an essential piece of Midwestern brewing and packaging history. Produced by the Falstaff Brewing Corporation, this can originates from the company's historic Plant No. 3, situated at 25th and Vinton Streets in South Omaha. Falstaff acquired the facility from the former Fred Krug Brewing Company, a strategic move that helped establish Falstaff as an early multi-state brewing powerhouse following the repeal of Prohibition.

During the emergence of canned draft products, breweries actively marketed packaged draft offerings to emphasize brewery-fresh character. Falstaff introduced its Draft line with specialized graphic design to distinguish it from the flagship lager. The 12-ounce container prominently features the bold "Draft" designation integrated with the recognizable Falstaff heraldic shield and traditional corporate typography. The Omaha mandatory plant line—either directly identifying the city or listing Omaha among a group of regional brewing branches—solidifies its ties to Nebraska's industrial brewing heritage.

For breweriana enthusiasts, the Omaha Draft can represents an important regional variation in the broader Falstaff catalog. Because the corporation distributed across a vast territory and utilized multiple manufacturing plants, known variations exist featuring differences in canning company logos, mandatory text arrangements, and statutory labeling lines. Because Plant No. 3 supplied vast distribution corridors throughout the Great Plains and Upper Midwest, this container remains a key collectible documenting mid-century brewing expansion and package evolution.
