Fisher Premium Light Beer Pint Can

Salt Lake City Fisher Pint Can

The Fisher Premium Light Beer pint can holds an important place in Western breweriana, representing the mid-century era of the historic A. Fisher Brewing Company of Salt Lake City, Utah. Founded in 1884 by German immigrant Albert Fisher along the Jordan River, the brewery grew into one of the largest and most prominent brewing operations in the Intermountain West.

Following decades of regional dominance and the post-Prohibition brewing landscape, the Fisher facility was acquired by the Lucky Lager Brewing Company (later operating as General Brewing Corporation). Under this management, the Fisher nameplate was maintained as a core regional label, and packaging formats were updated to modern distribution standards.

The 16-ounce pint format provided an alternative for consumers desiring a larger single serving than the conventional 12-ounce container. The can design highlights classic Fisher typography paired with the "Premium Light Beer" moniker and the Salt Lake City mandatory markings, keeping the historic Utah heritage prominent.

For breweriana collectors, pint-sized cans from this era are particularly sought after because 16-ounce runs were distributed in substantially lower quantities than standard 12-ounce cans. Known variations exist across production batches, showing differences in mandatory legal text placement, canning manufacturer marks, and top lid stampings. The can remains a notable artifact of Utah's mid-century commercial brewing industry.
