Fitger's Nordlager Natural Beer Cone Top Can

Fitger's Nordlager Beer Can

Produced by the historic Fitger Brewing Company in Duluth, Minnesota, the Fitger's Nordlager Natural Beer cone top represents an important era of Upper Midwest breweriana. Originating from the landmark brewery along the shores of Lake Superior, this container reflects the packaging lineup of one of northern Minnesota's most recognizable regional beer producers.

Graphic Design and Visuals

The can showcases crisp period typography highlighting the "Nordlager" label alongside the brewery's standard branding elements. Featuring a clean, striking color palette and prominent text callouts for "Natural Beer," the packaging was designed to catch the eye of consumers across the Northland distribution territory.

Collector Variations

For breweriana specialists, this can is notable for its manufacturing differences. Minor variations exist in the mandatory tax and alcohol statements printed on the side panels, reflecting shifting state regulations and regional distribution requirements. Additionally, variations in base construction exist across production runs, with certain bottom profiles being particularly difficult for collectors to track down.

Collectibility

Fitger's cans hold enduring appeal among enthusiasts of Minnesota and Lake Superior brewing history. Because Fitger operated as an independent regional brewery rather than a nationwide powerhouse, surviving examples of the Nordlager cone top command active interest within the breweriana community and remain centerpiece items in regional collections.
