Fort Schuyler Lager Beer Cone Top Can

Fort Schuyler Lager Cone Top

The Fort Schuyler Lager Beer cone top can represents a notable piece of brewing history from upstate New York. Packaged for the Utica Brewing Company of Utica, New York, the brand honors the regional heritage of Fort Schuyler, a historic fortification established in the Mohawk Valley.

Manufactured by the Continental Can Company, the can features a high-profile cone design decorated with rich metallic gold, deep black, and red accents. The central branding displays prominent Fort Schuyler lettering alongside classic municipal labeling highlighting its Utica origins.

Collectors recognize variations across different production runs. Typographic differences include examples that feature bold red initial capital letters on the primary label, contrasted against versions produced with solid dark lettering throughout the brand name. Additional variations exist regarding statutory labeling, with earlier examples bearing Internal Revenue Tax Paid (IRTP) statements while others omit the phrase. Minor differences in can manufacturing stamps and plant identifiers also appear near the bottom seam.

Because Utica was a major center for regional brewing in New York, this can remains a popular and historically significant centerpiece for collectors of Empire State breweriana.
