Fox Deluxe Waukesha Beer Flat Top Can

Fox Deluxe Waukesha Flat Top

The Fox Deluxe Waukesha Beer Flat Top represents a notable chapter in Midwestern brewing history, bridging the legacy of the Chicago-based Peter Fox Brewing Company with the Fox Head Brewing Company of Waukesha, Wisconsin.

Originally created as the flagship label for the Peter Fox Brewing empire, the Fox Deluxe brand gained widespread regional prominence. When operations shifted to the historic Fox Head facility in Waukesha, the can design was adapted to showcase the new production locale. Waukesha, long celebrated as "Spring City" for its natural mineral springs, became a central selling point for the label. Cans produced during this era often carried the distinctive tagline, "Brewed In Greater Milwaukee With Waukesha Water," capitalizing on the regional reputation of local water quality.

Design and Collector Variations

The can features the classic Fox Deluxe script branding set against bold metallic fields, accented by rich red and gold tones. Collector interest remains strong due to the intersection of two prominent brewing names on a single container.

Several variations of this can exist in the breweriana community. These differences include variations in typography color—such as versions printed with brown text versus darker lettering—as well as slight modifications to mandatory brewery statements and bottom-rim promotional slogans.

Today, the Fox Deluxe flat top from Waukesha is a prized piece of Wisconsin breweriana, documenting the evolution of Midwestern regional canning history and the Fox Head facility.
