Fox Head Bock Flat Top Can

Fox Head Bock from Kingsbury

The Fox Head Bock Flat Top Can represents a notable chapter in Wisconsin brewing history, tying together two prominent regional names: the historic Fox Head brand and Kingsbury Breweries Co. of Sheboygan, Wisconsin. While Fox Head originated in Waukesha, the brand's production later shifted to Kingsbury's Sheboygan facilities during mid-century brewery consolidations.

Bock beers were traditionally brewed as seasonal specialties released in late winter and early spring. Because of this limited distribution window, bock cans were manufactured in far smaller quantities than flagship year-round lagers. Within Wisconsin breweriana, only a select few breweries ever canned bock beer during this era, making regional bock cans especially desirable to collectors.

The label presentation features the distinguished Fox Head trademark paired with classic bock-themed colors and clean mid-century typography. The mandatory text explicitly identifies Kingsbury Breweries Co., Sheboygan, WI, distinguishing this version from Fox Head releases associated with other operating locations.

Among breweriana collectors, variations are known to exist across different manufacturing runs. These differences primarily appear in the mandatory text formatting, font weighting, paint sheen, and can manufacturer stamps from suppliers such as National Can Company.

Today, the Fox Head Bock from Kingsbury stands out as a favored centerpiece among Midwestern breweriana enthusiasts, celebrated for its bold graphics and connection to Sheboygan's rich brewing heritage.
