Garten Brau Bavarian Style Beer 12 Oz Tab Top Can

Garten Brau Bavarian Style Can

The Garten Brau Bavarian Style Beer can is a notable release associated with the historic Potosi Brewing Company of Potosi, Wisconsin. Marketed under the Garten Brau brand name—a recognized subsidiary trade name for Potosi—this label celebrated old-world German brewing heritage while serving regional Midwestern markets.

Design and Branding

The can's graphic layout emphasizes traditional Bavarian motifs, utilizing classic Germanic typography, heraldic accents, and prominent Garten Brau branding. The can incorporates heritage phrasing such as "Master Brewed Since 1852" and "Like The Good Old Beer Of Yesteryear," paying homage to Potosi's long-standing footprint as a prominent brewery along the Mississippi River.

Collector Notes and Variations

Among breweriana collectors, variations of this label are known to exist. These subtle differences appear primarily in the mandatory text and contents markings, where text colors vary—such as versions featuring crisp white lettering versus those finished in copper-toned script—alongside minor adjustments in can manufacturer stamps across production runs.

Because Potosi Brewing Company holds a central place in regional brewing lore and currently serves as the home to the National Brewery Museum, cans carrying the Garten Brau moniker remain popular additions to collections dedicated to historic Wisconsin breweriana.
