Gb Dark Kulmbacher Bock Flat Top Can

GB Dark Kulmbacher Bock Can

The Gb Dark Kulmbacher Bock Flat Top Can represents a notable release from the Grace Bros. Brewing Company of Santa Rosa, California. Designed for the brewery's seasonal dark bock offering, this container stands out among West Coast breweriana for its regional styling and German-inspired brewing homage.

Design and Collector Significance

The can features prominent Grace Bros. "GB" branding alongside the traditional bock goat iconography and bold labeling designating the contents as Kulmbacher dark beer. The Kulmbacher name pays tribute to the historic brewing center of Kulmbach in Bavaria, Germany, renowned for its strong, dark lagers.

Among collectors of California beer cans, this Kulmbacher-designated flat top is regarded as one of the scarcer bock issues from the Santa Rosa plant. Known variations of Grace Bros. bock cans exist in the collector community, displaying subtle differences in metallic versus enamel finishes, goat colorations, and text layout.

Brewery Background

Grace Brothers was an influential fixture of the Northern California brewing industry for decades following the repeal of Prohibition. Operating from their facility in Santa Rosa, the company produced both proprietary labels and contract brews distributed throughout the Pacific states. Their seasonal bock releases remain desirable additions to vintage breweriana collections.
