Gb Lite Beer 12 Oz Tab Top Can

Fort Wayne GB Lite Beer Can

The Gb Lite Beer 12 oz tab top can represents a notable chapter in the packaging history of the Falstaff Brewing Corporation. Produced out of Falstaff's Fort Wayne, Indiana facility—a historic brewery complex on Grant Avenue originally established by Berghoff Brewing—this can highlights the industry's shift toward low-calorie formulations and modern container design.

Design and Production Features

The aluminum container features a clean, two-sided face layout designed for visibility in retail display coolers. It incorporates standard features from its manufacturing era, including the addition of Universal Product Codes (UPC) and metric volume statements alongside conventional fluid ounce markings. The brewery mandatory text credits the Falstaff Brewing Corporation and includes Fort Wayne within its multi-city production roster.

Collector Notes and Variations

For collectors of Midwestern and Indiana breweriana, specimens bearing the Fort Wayne plant address are desirable additions representing the facility's extended post-acquisition operations under Falstaff. Known variations among these cans include differences in mandatory line typography, the selection and arrangement of listed production cities, and graphic placement on the seam margins.
