Gold Label (colorado) Beer Flat Top Can

Colorado Gold Label Flat Top Can

Produced by the Walter Brewing Company of Pueblo, Colorado, the Colorado Gold Label flat top can stands as a celebrated artifact of Rocky Mountain brewing history. Founded in the late nineteenth century, Walter Brewing became one of the leading regional breweries in southern Colorado, distributing its labels across the American West until the historic plant ceased operations in the 1970s.

The graphic design of the can is renowned among breweriana enthusiasts for its bold metallic palette and scenic outdoor imagery. Prominently featuring mountain peaks and alpine motifs, the artwork captured the high-altitude branding popular among mid-century Rocky Mountain breweries.

Across its production with container manufacturers such as Continental Can Company, several variations were released into distribution. These variations exhibit subtle differences in metallic sheen, background paint finishes, typography adjustments, and regulatory labeling text. Today, the Colorado Gold Label flat top remains a classic centerpiece for collectors specializing in Colorado brewing heritage and commercial packaging design.
