Golden Glow Beer Flat Top Can

Golden Glow Flat Top Can

The Golden Glow Beer flat top can was produced by the Golden West Brewing Company of Oakland, California. Located on Kirkham Street, Golden West was one of the largest and most prominent breweries in the East Bay, maintaining a significant brewing presence for decades before the plant ceased operations in the late 1950s.

Golden Glow served as the brewery's flagship brand. The cans were manufactured by the American Can Company and carried the trademark "Keglined" oval logo on the side panel.

The graphic design prominently displays the stylized Golden Glow brand lettering across the face, frequently paired with the brewery's slogan, "It's The After Glow". The mandatory text identifies the brewery's Oakland location alongside the historical "Internal Revenue Tax Paid" (IRTP) statement.

For breweriana enthusiasts, Golden Glow flat tops represent an important artifact of Northern California brewing history. Several variations are recognized among collectors, featuring differences such as "Grade A" designations, instructional side panels, and text layout adjustments across production runs.
