Grain Belt Golden Beer Cone Top Can

Grain Belt Golden Beer Cone Top

Produced by the Minneapolis Brewing Company in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the Grain Belt Golden Beer cone top can is an iconic piece of Midwestern brewing heritage. The Minneapolis Brewing Company traces its roots to the 1890s when four prominent local brewing outfits merged, establishing the landmark brewery in Northeast Minneapolis where the Grain Belt brand grew into the company's flagship label.

The can design features the classic Grain Belt diamond insignia emblazoned over a stylized bottlecap motif, highlighted by a bold palette of rich metallic gold, bright red, and crisp white lithography. Many examples also showcase the brewery's long-running promotional slogan, "The Friendly Beer" with its "Friendly Flavor."

For breweriana enthusiasts, several variations of this can exist across production runs. Differences include state-mandated alcohol content markings—such as designations for 3.2% alcohol by weight or strong beer—as well as variations in mandatory tax statements and subtle alterations in corporate phrasing. Structural variations also exist across different manufacturing profiles produced by packaging makers such as the Continental Can Company.

As a hallmark piece from one of Minnesota's most storied brewing institutions, this can remains an essential regional staple for Upper Midwest breweriana collections.
