Gunther Extra Dry Beer Flat Top Can

Maryland's Classic Gunther Lager

Produced by the Gunther Brewing Company of Baltimore, Maryland, this can represents one of the Mid-Atlantic region's most prominent regional brewing staples.

The label layout centers around an oval panel framed by the declaration, "Brewers of Maryland's Famous Extra Dry Beer." At the top of the emblem sits the company crest, featuring crowned rampant lions flanking a red shield with the brewer's distinctive "G" monogram, underscored by a banner commemorating the brewery's founding in 1881. The bold blackletter "Gunther" typography is paired with flowing red script for "Extra Dry" and subtitled "The Premium Lager" at the bottom of the central oval.

Gunther was a dominant force in the Baltimore beer market for decades before the company was eventually acquired by the F. & M. Schaefer Brewing Company.
