Hamm's Beer 12 Oz Zip Top Can

Hamm's St. Paul 12 Oz Zip Top Can

Brewed and packaged by the Theo. Hamm Brewing Company in St. Paul, Minnesota, this 12 oz can represents one of the most recognizable graphic designs in American breweriana. Featuring the brewery's celebrated woodland aesthetics and classic red crown-and-shield insignia, the can aligns with the mid-century marketing campaign that famously popularized the slogan, "From the Land of Sky Blue Waters."

During its production in St. Paul, Hamm's expanded its national footprint, becoming one of the largest brewing operations in the United States. Cans distributed from the flagship Minnesota facility displayed striking blue and gold accents against clean white backgrounds, often complemented by pine tree motifs that reinforced the brand's northwoods imagery.

For breweriana collectors, several variations exist across production runs from the St. Paul plant. Differences include variations in side-panel mandatory text, vanity lids promoting aluminum materials, and differing color treatments along the bottom rim and label borders. These subtle manufacturing and design adjustments make the can a popular subject of study and cataloging among regional can enthusiasts.
