Hamm's Beer Pint Can

Hamm's San Francisco Pint Can

The Hamm's Beer pint can bearing the San Francisco, California mandatory marks a significant chapter in the westward expansion of the Theo. Hamm Brewing Company. Originally established in St. Paul, Minnesota, Hamm's expanded its footprint to the Pacific Coast by acquiring the historic brewery facility on Bryant Street in San Francisco's Mission District—a location renowned in regional lore for its rooftop animated chalice sign overlooking Seals Stadium.

This 16-ounce container features Hamm's classic mid-century graphic presentation, centered on the company's crown and crest emblem, bold typography, and the celebrated slogan celebrating the "Land of Sky Blue Waters". The can is marked with half-quart volume designations near the upper rim. The defining feature for breweriana collectors is the brewery mandatory line printed along the seam, which specifies Theo. Hamm Brewing Co. in San Francisco, California, distinguishing it from the primary Minnesota headquarters and other regional canning locations.

Among breweriana enthusiasts, pint cans from this era are generally scarcer than standard twelve-ounce issues. Collectors of West Coast breweriana and Hamm's specialists actively seek out the San Francisco mandatory to complete geographic runs of the company's mid-century packaging. Variations exist across production runs, featuring minor differences in mandatory text formatting, canning company manufacturing hallmarks, and vanity lids bearing company graphics.
