Hi-brau Premium Beer Flat Top Can

The Hi-Brau Flat Top by Huber

The Hi-brau Premium Beer flat top can represents a notable chapter in the history of the Jos. Huber Brewing Company of Monroe, Wisconsin. Originating from a brewery that traced its heritage back to the mid-19th century under the Blumer name before adopting the Huber identity, the facility established itself as a resilient regional brewer in the Upper Midwest.

During the era when regional breweries competed against expanding national shipping giants, Jos. Huber relied on local branding and proprietary labels to maintain strong market footing. Hi-brau Premium Beer served as one of the brewery's staple regional offerings. The label graphics typically featured bold typography with prominent "Wisconsin Brewed" branding, celebrating the brewery's historic Monroe roots.

Among collectors of mid-century breweriana, the can is recognized for its distinctive metallic and standard painted variations. Variations exist regarding the inclusion of mandatory regulatory text, alcohol statements, and specific can manufacturer marks, such as stamps from the Continental Can Company. Because the Huber brewery eventually transitioned ownership before later becoming the Minhas Craft Brewery, original Jos. Huber cans like Hi-brau serve as significant physical records of independent Wisconsin brewing history.
