Hitts Sangerfest Beer Flat Top Can

Hitt's Sangerfest Flat Top Can

Produced by the Walter Brewing Company in Pueblo, Colorado, the Hitts Sangerfest Beer flat top is an evocative piece of mid-century regional breweriana. The can's branding references the traditional Sängerfest (subtitled "Song Festival" on the label), celebrating the German-American choral and festival traditions.

Design and Collector Details

The graphic presentation highlights its musical theme, incorporating musical notation, festive typography, and classic brewing motifs. The cans were manufactured for the Pueblo brewery by the Continental Can Company.

Among collectors of Colorado breweriana and Walter Brewing labels, variations in the lithography exist across production runs, most notably in the metallic color treatment of the musical notes. Because Walter Brewing maintained a wide catalog of contract and regional specialty labels before closing in the 1970s, Hitt's Sangerfest remains a distinctive highlight of Pueblo's industrial brewing heritage.
