Hohenadel Beer Quart

Hohenadel Beer Quart Cone Top

The Hohenadel Beer Quart was produced by the John Hohenadel Brewery, Inc., a prominent regional brewing operation based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Operating out of the historic brewing district of East Falls, the brewery established a devoted following and showcased its hallmark slogan, "Well Earned Supremacy," across its container designs.

Manufactured by the Continental Can Company, this thirty-two-ounce container features the classic "Cap Sealed" side panel alongside bold brand lettering and the brewery's traditional heraldic imagery. Large-format quart cans required specialized canning line setups, making them an ambitious venture for regional independent breweries of the era.

Among breweriana collectors, the Hohenadel Beer Quart is highly prized, particularly by enthusiasts focusing on Pennsylvania brewing heritage and large-format cans. Research within the collecting community documents several variations of this can, primarily distinguished by changes in the Continental Can Company "Cap Sealed" logo format, statutory alcohol labeling, and the presence or absence of the Internal Revenue Tax Paid (IRTP) mandatory statement.

Because quart containers were produced in significantly smaller quantities than standard twelve-ounce packages and sold primarily across local distribution networks, surviving examples of the Hohenadel Beer Quart regularly command strong interest at breweriana auctions and collector exchanges.
