Hohenadel Light Beer Cone Top Can

Hohenadel Light Beer Cone Top

The Hohenadel Light Beer cone top can represents an iconic piece of brewing heritage from the John Hohenadel Brewery, Inc., located in the historic East Falls neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Established in the nineteenth century, the Hohenadel brewery became an integral part of Philadelphia's rich brewing landscape, and this can serves as a classic emblem of the brewery's post-Prohibition packaged offerings.

The can design prominently showcases the brewery's long-standing marketing slogan, "Well Earned Supremacy," set against rich metallic tones and bold lettering. The graphics reflect the proud heritage of the regional Philadelphia brewer before larger national shipping operations dominated the regional marketplace. Collectors value the can for its sharp typography, classic heraldic accents, and distinctive mid-century aesthetic.

Over its production run, the Hohenadel Light Beer cone top saw variations manufactured by major container producers, including Crown Cork & Seal and Continental Can Company. These variations encompass differences in cone profile heights, spout finishes, and versions featuring the Internal Revenue Tax Paid (IRTP) statement alongside non-IRTP releases. Hohenadel also released the label across both standard twelve-ounce cans and larger quart cone tops, giving collectors diverse variations to pursue from this regional favorite.

Following the era of mid-century brewery consolidations, cans bearing the Hohenadel name have become prized historical artifacts of Pennsylvania breweriana. Today, the Hohenadel Light Beer cone top remains a quintessential representation of Philadelphia's industrial brewing history and an essential addition for East Coast beer can collectors.
