Holiday (armanetti's) Beer Flat Top Can

Armanetti's Holiday Flat Top Can

The Holiday (Armanetti's) Beer Flat Top Can represents a notable chapter in the intersection of regional Wisconsin brewing and the Chicago retail market. Produced under the Holiday Brewing Company name—a trade entity utilized by the Potosi Brewing Company of Potosi, Wisconsin—this can was packaged for Armanetti, a prominent retail liquor store chain based in the Chicago, Illinois area.

Throughout the era of independent midwestern brewing, regional breweries frequently engaged in custom private-label canning to expand their distribution footprint into larger metropolitan markets. The Potosi Brewing Company utilized dedicated trade names like Holiday Brewing Company to produce customized store brands for urban merchants. Armanetti Liquors commissioned these custom-labeled cans to provide an exclusive house product for their retail outlets.

Manufactured by the Continental Can Company, the can features commercial artwork highlighting the Holiday moniker alongside the Armanetti name. Collectors note variations among the Holiday labels produced in Potosi, featuring subtle differences in distributor text, mandatory brewery phrasing, and layout details across different production runs.

The can stands as a prominent historical artifact reflecting the commercial ties between small-town Wisconsin brewing operations and major metropolitan beverage retailers.
