Holiday Bock 12 Oz Tab Top Can

Holiday Bock From Potosi

The Holiday Bock 12 oz tab top can represents a notable chapter in the history of the Potosi Brewing Company of Potosi, Wisconsin, which packaged beer under the trade name Holiday Brewing Co. Originating from a historic brewing site along the Mississippi River, the Holiday line was one of the brewery's most recognizable product lines, with the bock designated as its seasonal spring offering.

Graphic Design & Imagery

The can is distinguished by classic breweriana iconography, prominently showcasing the traditional bock ram's head emblem alongside bold mid-century typography. The contrast of the graphics against the primary background color was designed to stand out on regional retail shelves during the early spring bock release window.

Collector Background

Because the original Potosi brewery ceased operations in the early 1970s prior to its much later revitalization and the establishment of the National Brewery Museum on-site, authentic cans bearing the Holiday label hold a dedicated following among Wisconsin breweriana enthusiasts.

Known Variations

Collectors cataloging regional Wisconsin issues have noted variations of the Holiday Bock tab top container. These variations include subtle shifts in mandatory statement layouts, minor adjustments to the brewery line text, and differences in top lid manufacturing specifications.
