Holland Brand Premium Beer Flat Top Can

Holland Brand Premium Beer History

Produced by Eastern Beverage Corporation in Hammonton, New Jersey, the Holland Brand Premium Beer flat top represents a notable chapter in mid-century regional brewing. Eastern Beverage established itself as a prolific regional producer in southern New Jersey, transforming Hammonton into an active center for canned malt beverages.

Design and Aesthetic Elements

The can features a distinctive faux-woodgrain lithograph background paired with traditional Dutch-inspired branding. Prominent European heraldic imagery, decorative crests, and bold typography were utilized to evoke an old-world brewing tradition. Manufactured using American Can Company's patented "Keglined" construction, the graphic scheme incorporates contrasting cream, deep red, and metallic gold accents across the body.

Variations and Collector Interest

Throughout the brand's production run in Hammonton, various label variations were manufactured. These variations typically involve subtle changes in the brewery trade name along the mandatory side panel text—reflecting corporate transitions between Eastern Beverage Corporation and Eastern Brewing Corporation—as well as adjustments to mandatory tax stamps, canning plant codes, and minor typography spacing on the primary face.

Eastern Beverage was widely recognized in the brewing industry for producing numerous regional house brands and private labels. Holland Brand served as one of the facility's prominent flagship labels, making this can an essential piece for collectors specializing in New Jersey breweriana and classic mid-century graphic packaging.
