Home Old Style Ale Flat Top Can

Drewry's Home Old Style Ale

The Home Old Style Ale Flat Top Can was packaged by Drewry's Ltd. in South Bend, Indiana. Drewry's originated in Canada before establishing a substantial American footprint in South Bend following the repeal of Prohibition. Operating out of the former Muessel Brewing facility on Elwood Avenue, the brewery expanded into one of the most prominent regional brewing powerhouses across the Midwest.

While Drewry's achieved broad distribution with mainstream lines such as Drewrys Extra Dry Beer, the brewery also canned dedicated brands under distinct labeling. The Home Old Style Ale brand represents one of these focused ale labels bearing the Drewry's Ltd. mandatory information from the South Bend plant.

For breweriana enthusiasts focused on Indiana and midwestern regional labels, Home Old Style Ale is a prized representative of South Bend's post-Prohibition brewing heritage. The container design showcases mid-century typography and striking graphic framing tailored for regional distribution.

Variations of the Home Old Style Ale design exist across different metal container styles, but the flat top version remains a premier subject of interest in regional breweriana catalogs and vintage can auctions.
