Iroquois Beer Flat Top Can

Buffalo's Iroquois Beer Flat Top

The Iroquois Beer flat top can issued under the International Breweries banner represents a significant chapter in Buffalo, New York's industrial and brewing heritage. Originally established under the longstanding Iroquois Beverage Corporation on Pratt Street, the brand was incorporated into International Breweries, Inc. during an era when regional brewing operations were forming multi-plant networks across multiple states.

The can showcases the classic Native American profile emblem long associated with the historic Iroquois label, set alongside mid-century typography and the required mandatory text identifying International Breweries in Buffalo. While International Breweries operated facilities in multiple regions, the Buffalo plant remained the primary packaging and distribution hub for the flagship Iroquois line throughout Western New York and neighboring regional markets. During this era, the brand maintained strong local visibility through regional sports sponsorships and tavern promotions.

Over the course of its manufacturing run, several variations were produced, featuring subtle differences in mandatory text placement, lid specifications, and minor graphic adjustments reflecting shifting corporate markings. For breweriana collectors, this can remains an important centerpiece representing Buffalo's mid-century brewing landscape.
