Iroquois Tomahawk Ale 12 Oz Zip Top Can

Buffalo's Tomahawk Ale Zip Top

Produced by International Breweries, Inc. at the historic Pratt Street facility in Buffalo, New York, the Iroquois Tomahawk Ale 12-ounce can is a standout piece of Western New York breweriana. The brand represents an era when International Breweries operated regional facilities, keeping local identity strong through distinctive marketing and graphic design.

The can features bold graphic design centered around a prominent tomahawk motif set against alternating green and metallic silver stripes. Accompanying text includes the slogan "Brewed For Braves" along with product credentials reading "Made from choicest malt, selected hops and grains" and mandatory brewery text attributing production to Buffalo, New York. The vivid contrast between the emerald green and reflective silver makes the label artwork instantly recognizable on collector shelves.

Among breweriana collectors, the Tomahawk Ale can is prized for its historic regional ties to the Queen City. Known variations exist across different manufacturing runs, displaying subtle differences in mandatory text placement and can manufacturer markings. As a classic artifact from the Buffalo brewing landscape, this can remains a sought-after piece representing the city's twentieth-century industrial past.
