James Bond's 007 Malt Liquor 12 Oz Tab Top Can

National's 007 Special Blend Can

Produced by The National Brewing Company at its Phoenix, Arizona plant, this can represents a famous chapter in pop-culture breweriana. Designed to capitalize on the 1960s spy craze and the immense global popularity of Ian Fleming's secret agent, the product was marketed as "James Bonds 007 Special Blend" with the label stating, "A subtle blend of PREMIUM BEER and MALT LIQUOR".

The label showcases full-color photographic imagery featuring a glamorous model posed beside a traditional British sentry box with a Grenadier Guard in uniform. This visual was part of a broader marketing campaign by National Brewing that set models against various London landmarks and iconic British scenes.

Despite the stylish presentation, the brand had an extraordinarily short lifespan on retail shelves. National Brewing introduced the product line without obtaining licensing rights or trademark approval from the Ian Fleming estate. When confronted over the unauthorized use of the 007 name and concept, the brewery had to abruptly discontinue production and pull remaining stock from distribution. That rapid withdrawal has made this Phoenix-brewed crossover can an enduring favorite among breweriana collectors and James Bond enthusiasts.
