James Bond's 007 Malt Liquor 12 Oz Tab Top Can

The Unauthorized 007 Malt Liquor

Produced by the National Brewing Company at its Phoenix, Arizona facility during the late 1960s spy craze, James Bond's 007 Special Blend represents one of the most famous pop-culture crossovers in brewing history. Capitalizing on the international fame of the British secret agent, the beverage was marketed directly on the label face with the distinctive phrasing, "A subtle blend of PREMIUM BEER and MALT LIQUOR".

The front design incorporates photographic imagery of a glamorous model positioned in front of a London scene featuring mounted British Life Guards. Additional label variations were issued depicting other London landmarks alongside differing mandatory brewery city listings.

National Brewing launched the brand without obtaining trademark permission or licensing rights from the estate of James Bond creator Ian Fleming. When the estate intervened regarding intellectual property infringement, distribution was abruptly halted and existing inventory was withdrawn from store shelves. Because of this short-lived production window, surviving examples from the Phoenix plant have become highly coveted crossover items among breweriana collectors and James Bond memorabilia enthusiasts alike.
