James Bond's 007 Special Blend Malt Liquor 12 Oz Tab Top Can

James Bond's 007 Special Blend

Produced in the late 1960s by the National Brewing Company at its Phoenix, Arizona facility, James Bond's 007 Special Blend was created to capitalize on the international popularity of the famous fictional secret agent. Marketed as a distinctive hybrid combining malt liquor with premium beer, the can features photographic artwork of a glamorous model posed against the historic backdrop of the Tower of London alongside the bold, stylized "007" numeral.

National Brewing issued the brand across multiple variations, alternating London landmarks and featured models across different production runs and regional distribution points. However, the product run was abruptly cut short. The brewery launched the brand without securing proper licensing or trademark authorization from the estate of Ian Fleming. Faced with legal pressure over intellectual property rights, National Brewing ceased production and quickly pulled inventory from store shelves.

In standard collector reference literature, this specific entry has historically been illustrated using an alternative companion can from the set because a direct photographic example of this exact variation was unavailable at the time of publication. Due to the sudden recall and its status as an unauthorized pop-culture crossover, surviving examples remain celebrated treasures among breweriana and memorabilia collectors.
