The Jos. Schlitz Brewing Company of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, regularly explored graphic presentations, metallic inks, and branding layouts through experimental test cans prior to authorizing full commercial packaging runs. As one of the largest brewing operations in American history, Schlitz invested heavily in market research and design development, generating prototypes to evaluate visual appeal and gather feedback from internal panels and regional focus groups.
