Karlsbrau Old Time Beer 12 Oz Zip/Tab Top Can

Karlsbrau Old Time Duluth Beer Can

The Karlsbrau Old Time Beer 12 oz zip/tab top can represents a notable chapter in northern Minnesota brewing history. Issued under the Duluth Brewing & Malting Company banner in Duluth, Minnesota, this container carried one of the region's prominent heritage labels into the tab top era.

Duluth Brewing & Malting Company operated as a mainstay of the Lake Superior brewing scene from its castle-like facility in Duluth's West End. Karlsbrau Old Time served as a key regional label, designed with traditional Old World aesthetic cues that emphasized heritage and longevity. The graphic presentation highlights bold, Germanic-style lettering flanked by decorative banding and metallic borders.

Among breweriana collectors, this can holds significant regional interest because it marks the final era of cans bearing the original Duluth brewery attribution prior to broader industry consolidation. Multiple variations exist across production runs, showing subtle differences in mandatory text formatting, brewery line credits, and can seam execution.
