Keeley Premium Quality Beer Flat Top Can

Keeley Flat Top by Best Brewing

The Keeley Premium Quality Beer flat top can represents a notable chapter in Chicago brewing history, capturing the transition of a heritage brand into production by another historic Windy City establishment. Originally founded in the late 19th century by Michael Keeley, the Keeley Brewing Company was a fixture of Chicago's brewing scene for generations before closing its original facilities. Following that closure, the brand rights were acquired by the Best Brewing Company of Chicago, which continued to package and distribute the label under its own operations.

Best Brewing Company produced Keeley Premium Quality Beer in 12-ounce flat top cans manufactured primarily by the American Can Company. The graphic layout features bold Keeley typography paired with the famous "Just Right" trademark slogan that had defined the brand's marketing for decades. The mandatory panels clearly establish the Best Brewing Co. name alongside the Chicago, Illinois location.

For collectors of Midwestern breweriana, this can provides a physical record of mid-century brewing consolidation, where local brewing powerhouses kept beloved heritage labels alive for city drinkers. Variations of the can exist among manufacturing runs, displaying differences in canning marks, metallic finishes, and mandatory legal text. Its dual association with both the Keeley legacy and Best Brewing makes it a staple piece among regional flat top collections.
