Kingsbury Genuine Draft Gallon

Kingsbury Genuine Draft Gallon

The Kingsbury Genuine Draft Gallon represents a notable chapter in Wisconsin brewing history, produced under the stewardship of the G. Heileman Brewing Company in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Originally established in Manitowoc and Sheboygan, the Kingsbury Breweries Company built a strong presence across the upper Midwest. After G. Heileman acquired the Kingsbury labels, the company incorporated the line into its regional portfolio and utilized its La Crosse facilities to brew and package Kingsbury beverages.

Among the various packaging formats released under the label, the one-gallon can was designed for group events and social gatherings where bulk draft servings were desired. Fabricated by major industrial container producers like National Can Company, the can features expansive lithography highlighted by bold lettering, the traditional Kingsbury crown imagery, and the prominent "Genuine Draft" identifier.

These large-format containers hold significant appeal among breweriana collectors due to their striking display presence and historical connection to Heileman's postwar growth. Variations exist among surviving specimens, featuring slight differences in manufacturing stamps, mandatory statement layouts, and division text.
