Kingsbury Pale Beer Flat Top Can

Kingsbury Pale Beer Sheboygan

The Kingsbury Pale Beer flat top can represents a classic chapter in Wisconsin brewing history, originating from the Kingsbury Breweries Company in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. While Kingsbury maintained primary headquarters in Manitowoc, its Sheboygan facility produced a substantial portion of the company's regional output.

Design and Branding

The can's graphics showcase the brewery's regal visual identity, anchored by a crown and heraldic crest emblem. Kingsbury heavily promoted this flagship label with royal-themed marketing slogans such as "The Aristocrat of Beer" and "Fit for a King". The face of the can features bold brand lettering and the Sheboygan brewery mandatory, alongside the recognized American Can Company "Keglined" trademark emblem.

Historical Context

The Kingsbury name originated during the Prohibition era as a cereal beverage before transitioning to full-strength lagers and ales following Repeal. The brand established a strong footprint across the Upper Midwest, remaining an iconic regional label until Kingsbury merged with the G. Heileman Brewing Company.

Collector Notes and Variations

For breweriana collectors focusing on Midwest regional brewing history, cans bearing the Sheboygan mandatory are a staple of Wisconsin collections. Variations exist across manufacturing runs, distinguished by subtle differences in mandatory statement phrasing, brewery address layout, and metallic trim accents on the lithography.
