Kingsbury Real Draft Flat Top Can

Kingsbury Real Draft Flat Top

Produced by the Kingsbury Breweries Company out of its Sheboygan, Wisconsin facility, the Kingsbury Real Draft flat top can represents a notable era of mid-century Wisconsin brewing heritage. Tracing its corporate lineage to 1847, Kingsbury proudly showcased this legacy on the can's face with the "Founded In 1847" inscription.

The label design centers on the bold "Real Draft" typography, manufactured by the Continental Can Company. Among collectors, graphic variations exist across manufacturing runs. Notable differences include variations in typography layout, such as whether the word "BEER" is printed directly underneath the "DRAFT" banner or omitted entirely, along with minor differences in mandatory brewery text and canning codes.

Kingsbury operated as a prominent regional brewer in both Manitowoc and Sheboygan before being acquired by the G. Heileman Brewing Company. The Real Draft flat top remains an enduring artifact from the brewery's late independent and transition period, capturing the regional marketing push for packaged draft-style brews.
