Leinenkugel's Genuine Bock 12 Oz Tab Top Can

Leinenkugel's Genuine Bock Can

Produced by the Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, the Leinenkugel's Genuine Bock 12-ounce tab top can represents a classic piece of Upper Midwest brewing heritage. Long celebrated for its regional identity and deep German-American brewing roots dating back to 1867, Leinenkugel issued this seasonal bock can to showcase its traditional springtime offering.

Design and Visual Appeal

The can features bold typography paired with the brewery's distinctive bock goat motif, an enduring emblem tied to German bock brewing traditions. The label prominently displays the "Leinenkugel's Genuine Bock" moniker alongside the Chippewa Falls brewing credit. The rich color palette and traditional artwork reflect the historic aesthetic long maintained by the family-operated facility on the Chippewa River.

Collector Notes and Variations

As with many regional canning runs, variations exist among these cans. Subtle differences can be found across seam construction, mandatory text layouts, and lid pressings, reflecting transitions in canning technology and manufacturing suppliers over the course of its production. Because bock was packaged seasonally rather than year-round, production runs for this specific label were far more limited than the brewery's flagship lager containers.

For collectors of Wisconsin breweriana and specialized bock cans, this container stands as a quintessential artifact from one of the Midwest's most storied regional brewing eras.
