Lf Innsbrau Lager Beer 12 Oz Tab Top Can

Shamokin's Innsbrau Tab Top

Produced by the Fuhrmann & Schmidt Brewing Company of Shamokin, Pennsylvania, under the Innsbrau Brewing Company trade name, this can represents a notable chapter in Pennsylvania's coal region brewing heritage. Fuhrmann & Schmidt, commonly known among collectors as F&S, was established in 1906 and operated out of Northumberland County as one of the area's prominent regional breweries.

The Innsbrau brand was packaged with bold labeling tailored for retail shelves, featuring continental-inspired branding centered around the Innsbrau name. Label variations are known to exist among collectors, primarily characterized by subtle differences in background color shading across print runs.

During its later years under the ownership of Philadelphia's Henry F. Ortlieb Brewing Company, the Shamokin plant utilized alternate brewing trade names on mandatory statements, including the Innsbrau Brewing Company designation. This allowed the facility to package diversified labels alongside its flagship F&S line. Today, Innsbrau cans from the Shamokin plant remain sought-after pieces of Central Pennsylvania breweriana, representing the late-era packaging history of the historic facility.
