Lone Star Beer 12 Oz Zip/Tab Top Can

Lone Star Oklahoma City Tab Top

The Lone Star Beer 12 oz zip/tab top can featuring the Oklahoma City, Oklahoma brewery mandatory represents a distinct chapter in the packaging and regional distribution history of the Lone Star Brewing Company. While the brand is famously rooted in San Antonio, Texas, Lone Star expanded its production footprint northward into Oklahoma to satisfy growing regional distribution demands across the Southwest.

Cans filled at the Oklahoma City facility carry the specific mandatory text referencing the brewery location in Oklahoma City, OK. This brewery line distinguishes these cans from those bearing the more common San Antonio address, making them notable pieces for regional breweriana specialists and collectors focused on Oklahoma brewing heritage.

The can design displays the classic Lone Star shield and star insignia with bold red, white, and blue brand elements. Over the course of its production, known graphic variations appeared, including subtle differences in the mandatory city text layout, color emphasis, and can company manufacturing markings. Because Lone Star's canning operations in Oklahoma City spanned a narrower timeframe than the flagship Texas plant, cans bearing the Oklahoma City identification are recognized by collectors as standout regional issues from this era.
