Lucky Lager Aged Dated Beer Flat Top Can

Lucky Lager Age-Dated Flat Top

The Lucky Lager "Age-Dated Beer" flat top represents a pivotal chapter in Intermountain West brewing history. This can was packaged at the Salt Lake City, Utah facility following Lucky Lager's acquisition of the historic A. Fisher Brewing Company plant during the late 1950s. The takeover transformed the legacy local facility into a major regional packaging hub for Lucky Lager across Utah and neighboring states.

The primary visual hallmark of the can is the prominent "Age-Dated Beer" slogan, which Lucky Lager promoted heavily as a quality assurance benchmark to emphasize controlled aging and freshness. Cans originating from the Salt Lake City plant carry mandatory brewery location markings that distinguish them from similar designs packaged at the company's other Western facilities in California and Washington.

Because of Utah's specific liquor control statutes, cans filled for local distribution often carried regulatory lid stampings, such as statements denoting a maximum alcohol content of four percent by weight. For collectors, several manufacturing variations exist from runs produced by the American Can Company. These variations include differences between metallic and non-metallic paint finishes, minor placement adjustments of the iconic red "X" emblem and gold scrollwork, and alternative lid stamping layouts.
