Lucky Lager Beer 12 Oz Tab Top Can

Fort Wayne's Lucky Lager Legacy

The Lucky Lager 12 oz tab top can produced by Falstaff in Fort Wayne, Indiana, captures an intriguing chapter of American brewing history when historic West Coast labels merged into Midwestern production lines. Originally established on the Pacific Coast, the Lucky Lager brand expanded its footprint across the United States as mid-to-late twentieth-century industry consolidation reshaped brewing operations, eventually placing production under the Falstaff Brewing Corporation umbrella.

The Fort Wayne facility, situated at the historic former Berghoff Brewing plant on Grant Avenue, served as a primary Midwestern manufacturing hub for Falstaff. Cans bearing the Fort Wayne mandatory line document this era of corporate expansion and centralized production, marking the geographic shift of classic heritage brands.

Notable points of interest for breweriana enthusiasts include:

• Brewery Mandatories: Mandatory text on the can identifies the Fort Wayne, Indiana facility, appearing either as a standalone city designation or within a multi-city roster of Falstaff brewing locations.
• Graphic Design: The layout incorporates traditional Lucky Lager typography and iconography adapted to the standard twelve-ounce packaging format.
• Manufacturing Variations: Known variations documented by collectors include differences in mandatory line formatting, side-seam construction, and lid stampings across various manufacturing batches.

Because Fort Wayne served as one of Falstaff's most enduring operational locations, cans carrying the Indiana plant mandatory remain prominent display pieces for both regional collectors and specialists in corporate brewing history.
