Metz Jubilee Beer Cone Top Can

Omaha's Metz Jubilee Cone Top

The Metz Jubilee Beer cone top was produced by the Metz Brewing Company in Omaha, Nebraska. Metz was one of Omaha's pioneering brewing enterprises, tracing its lineage back to the 1860s when the Metz brothers established their brewing operations.

The Jubilee label became one of the brewery's most recognizable post-Prohibition offerings. The can's graphics prominently display the Metz moniker accompanied by the signature "Jubilee" script and the historic "Since 1864" tagline, referencing the brewery's early founding along 6th and Leavenworth Streets in Omaha. The container was manufactured using Continental Can Company's Cap Sealed design, complete with the standard manufacturer panel markings on the side.

Collectors track several notable variations of this container that reflect changing statutory and regional requirements over its manufacturing lifespan. Variations exist between examples bearing the mandatory Internal Revenue Tax Paid (IRTP) declaration and later post-IRTP releases. Furthermore, different production runs feature varying alcohol statutory phrasing—such as versions declaring "Alcohol Content not over 4% by Weight" compared to versions with no alcohol statement at all—accommodating differing state distribution laws across the Midwest and Great Plains.

As a relic from one of Nebraska's major pre-national brewing companies, the Metz Jubilee cone top remains a highly sought-after piece of regional breweriana.
