Milwaukee Brand Premium Beer 16 Oz Tab Top Can

Waukee 16 Oz Milwaukee Brand Can

The Milwaukee Brand Premium Beer 16-ounce can was produced under the Waukee Brewing Company trade name, an assumed business alias utilized by the Eastern Brewing Corporation of Hammonton, New Jersey. During its decades of operation, the Hammonton facility established a prolific presence in the brewing industry by packaging a wide array of contract labels, store brands, and value-priced regional beers.

Marketing and Identity

Pairing the shortened brewery name "Waukee" with the label "Milwaukee Brand" served as a deliberate marketing strategy. By doing so, the brewery established an immediate visual and nominal link to Milwaukee, Wisconsin—long celebrated as the brewing capital of the United States—despite the product being brewed and packaged in southern New Jersey.

Packaging and Collectibility

Produced by container manufacturers such as the American Can Company, the 16-ounce pint-sized container offered a larger volume option alongside standard 12-ounce offerings. The can features clean, industrial typography and traditional heraldic crest elements designed for clear visibility in retail markets.

Among breweriana collectors, variations are documented across different production batches. These variations primarily feature minor differences in mandatory text layout, slight font adjustments, and seam construction details. The 16-ounce format remains an interesting representative of Mid-Atlantic contract canning operations.
