Narragansett Lager Beer 12 Oz Zip Top Can

Narragansett Lager 12 Oz Zip Top

The Narragansett Lager Beer 12 oz zip top can originates from the historic Narragansett Brewing Company facility in Cranston, Rhode Island. During its mid-20th-century heyday, the Cranston brewery was an industrial powerhouse, producing a dominant share of the beer consumed across New England.

Featuring the traditional red, white, and gold color scheme, this can is closely tied to the famous marketing slogan, "Hi, Neighbor! Have a 'Gansett!" Narragansett maintained a notable footprint in New England sports history through its long-running partnership with the Boston Red Sox, promoted heavily over the airwaves by broadcaster Curt Gowdy. The brand achieved further pop culture recognition when a can of Narragansett was featured on screen in the 1975 blockbuster film Jaws.

Breweriana collectors recognize multiple label variations produced at the Cranston plant, with differences encompassing split-border graphics, varied text placements, and alternative rim markings. Representing a prominent era of Rhode Island brewing history, it remains an essential piece for regional can collections.
