National Bohemian Light Beer 12 Oz Tab Top Can

Baltimore's Classic Natty Boh Can

The National Bohemian Light Beer 12 oz tab top can represents a defining piece of Mid-Atlantic brewing history, produced by The National Brewing Company of Baltimore, Maryland. Known colloquially as "Natty Boh," National Bohemian evolved into an enduring cultural emblem throughout Charm City and the surrounding Chesapeake Bay region.

At the center of the can's graphic design is the famous mascot, Mr. Boh, distinguished by his iconic winking eye and handlebar mustache. The label also incorporates the brewery's famous slogan, "From the Land of Pleasant Living," a phrase celebrating regional Chesapeake heritage that defined the company's marketing for decades.

The National Brewing Company held immense cultural prominence under brewery president Jerold Hoffberger. Because Hoffberger also owned the Baltimore Orioles, National Bohemian became synonymous with local sporting culture and stadium traditions throughout Maryland.

For breweriana collectors, cans bearing the Baltimore mandatory line remain prized artifacts of Maryland's brewing lineage. Variations exist across manufacturing runs, featuring subtle differences in regulatory text, seam construction, metallic finishes, and lid stampings.
