National Bohemian Light Beer Flat Top Can

Baltimore's Iconic Boh Flat Top

Produced by The National Brewing Company of Baltimore, Maryland, the National Bohemian Light Beer flat top can stands as a celebrated piece of Mid-Atlantic breweriana. Affectionately nicknamed "Natty Boh" throughout the Chesapeake Bay region, the can prominently showcases the company's famous mascot, Mr. Boh—the beloved character recognizable by his winking eye and broad handlebar mustache.

The graphics reflect a prominent era of regional brewing history, carrying forward the spirit of famous slogans such as "Oh boy, what a beer!" and "From the Land of Pleasant Living." The National Brewing Company was also a significant packaging innovator, credited with being among the earliest pioneers of the modern six-pack can carrier to distribute canned beer to retail consumers. In addition, the brewery established a lasting legacy in sports marketing under brewery president Jerold Hoffberger, who owned the Baltimore Orioles and cemented the brand's presence at Memorial Stadium.

For breweriana enthusiasts, known variations of this flat top exist across different canning runs. These variations feature subtle differences in manufacturer marks, state tax lid imprints, and mandatory alcohol statement phrasing that reflect the brewery's regional distribution footprint.
