North Star Beer 12 Oz Tab Top Can

North Star Beer Can Overview

Produced by the Cold Spring Brewing Company in Cold Spring, Minnesota, this 12-ounce North Star Beer can represents a notable piece of Upper Midwest breweriana. The brand name draws direct inspiration from Minnesota's state motto, L'Étoile du Nord ("The Star of the North").

Design and Visual Elements

The can is distinguished by a bold star motif set against a rich background palette. Prominent, stylized "North Star" typography anchors the primary display panel, flanked by clean graphic striping and metallic highlights. Manufacturer and mandatory labeling identify the canning location as Cold Spring, Minnesota, the longtime home of Cold Spring Brewing Company along the Sauk River.

Collector Notes and Variations

Cold Spring distributed North Star Beer across regional Midwestern markets. Among breweriana collectors, the label is documented with slight variations stemming from different manufacturing runs. These variations include subtle shifts in the background color saturation, differences in the metallic base paint, and minor layout modifications in the brewery mandatory text and legal statements.

Because Cold Spring maintained a prolific catalog of regional house brands and contract labels throughout its operational history, this can remains a sought-after entry for enthusiasts dedicated to Minnesota brewing history and regional can graphics.
