North Star XXX Beer History

The North Star XXX Beer 12 Oz Tab Top Can represents a notable chapter in Midwestern brewing heritage, issued under the Jac. Schmidt Brewing Division of Associated Brewing Company in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Heritage and Brand Origins

The North Star moniker carries deep roots in the brewing landscape of St. Paul. Tracing back to a pioneer-era brewery that Jacob Schmidt managed and eventually acquired in the nineteenth century, the label was retained and honored by Schmidt's operation even after relocating to the landmark West Seventh Street brewery. When Associated Brewing Company operated the St. Paul facility, they maintained regional legacy labels like North Star alongside Schmidt's primary product offerings.
