Northern Beer Cone Top Can

Northern Beer Cone Top Overview

Produced by the Northern Brewing Company in Superior, Wisconsin, the Northern Beer cone top can represents a classic piece of Upper Midwest breweriana. Based in the Twin Ports region across the bay from Duluth, Minnesota, the Northern Brewing Company was a major regional fixture in a competitive brewing market.

The can design prominently highlights Northern's recognizable promotional slogan, "We Made It Good... You Made It Famous," positioned alongside bold central typography. Manufactured using Continental Can Company's high-profile Cap Sealed design, the container features the manufacturer's trademark concave cone shoulder and side seam construction.

Breweriana collectors actively track several variations of the Northern Beer cone top. These distinct variations primarily differ in their fine legal text, mandatory tax statements, and alcohol declarations—such as versions bearing the "Contains Not More Than 3.2% Alcohol By Weight" tax statement versus standard releases—along with minor adjustments to the Continental Can Company trademark and patent panel markings.

Northern Brewing Company cone tops remain enduringly popular among Wisconsin breweriana specialists and regional collectors celebrating the rich brewing heritage of the Lake Superior region.
