Northern Beer Cone Top Can

Northern Beer Cone Top Overview

Manufactured for the Northern Brewing Company of Superior, Wisconsin, the Northern Beer cone top can represents an iconic piece of Upper Midwest breweriana. Northern Brewing Company originated in the late nineteenth century and grew into a powerhouse in the northern reaches of Wisconsin, outselling many rival regional labels and distributing beer across northern Wisconsin and Minnesota.

The can design prominently showcases the "Northern Beer" branding alongside the brewery's famous slogan, "We Made It Good... You Made It Famous." Fabricated with Continental Can Company's Cap-Sealed design, the front and back panels display bold typography framed by crisp accent bands identifying the Superior, Wisconsin operation.

Collectors recognize variations of this can, primarily distinguished by differing mandatory legal statements, mandatory text alignments, and state-mandated alcohol declarations (such as 3.2% alcohol by weight statements or designations for strong beer). Because of the brewery's deep regional roots along Lake Superior and its popularity among Wisconsin can enthusiasts, this can remains a sought-after staple of Midwestern beer can collecting.
